CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

TOTAL FITNESS

Designed to challenge every aspect of fitness: cardiovascular function, strength, power, stability & mobility.
Total fitness will work every muscle in the body, in every way possible from isometric holds to plyometric power movements.
Using 3 simple pieces of kit: a kettlebell, 2 hand weights & a step or raised surface. It can be done here in the studio or at home live.
It will, with consistency & good nutrition, deliver a muscular, athletic & lean physique, improving posture, athleticism & mental focus.

TOTAL MOBILITY

Designed to work hand in glove with Total Fitness. Delivering all the benefits of Yoga with less emphasis on getting a sweat on and more emphasis on the development of flexibility & mobility & the prevention & rehabilitation of injury. Just 30 to 40 mins it can easily be worked into any schedule.
Can be done in the studio or live at home.

LIVE STRONG

Aimed at beginners & our over 50 members
Live Strong is a gentler, slightly slower paced incarnation of Total Fitness & just like its big brother is designed to challenge every aspect of fitness: cardiovascular function, strength, power, stability & mobility, all which are extremely important to maintain as our body ages. In fact endless research has proven that improving strength, mobility & fitness is key to slowing the aging process.
Live Strong can also act as a “gateway” to our Total Fitness classes.

BOXERCISE

Boxercise is a high intensity interval training class based on boxing training. It differs from boxing in that boxing is a competitive sport whereas Boxercise includes aspects of boxing training but not sparring or competitive bouts. It can burn a huge amount of calories & with good nutrition can result in positive body composition changes (fat loss) & improved fitness, coordination & mental wellbeing.

GROUP PT

Our Group Personal Training classes rests somewhere between a traditional circuit class & a one to one session. Small group sessions incorporating all aspects of health & fitness with endless variety & plenty of coaching time. Free to members, they are all designed & delivered by our top class coaches to allow their own style & personality to come through. It’s a fantastic way to make the most of your membership without the extra cost of one to one personal training.

LEGS, BUMS & TUMS

A persons’ legs, bum, and tum areas are often considered the worst parts of the body when it comes to shifting unwanted fat. Our ‘Legs, Bums and Tums’ gym classes are an effective way to help tone those wobbly bits. These classes are particularly popular with our women members who are keen to improve their overall body shape.

YOGA

Yoga is one of the most popular group fitness class there is. Rather than being a discipline that pushes your cardiovascular system to the limit, Yoga instead relies on improving your strength, flexibility and breathing through a series of increasingly difficult stretches. As well as being fantastic for improving strength, mobility & body awareness it also has a profound effect on mood & mental wellbeing.

PILATES

Pilates is a form of low-impact exercise that aims to strengthen muscles while improving postural alignment and flexibility.
Pilates moves tend to target your core, although the exercises work other areas of your body as well. A fantastic full body workout, accessible to all abilities.

BAR FIT

A full body strength & conditioning class utilising the barbell, the fundamental lifts & emphasising good form & mobility.

FREAKY FRIDAY

A true full & extensive body routine with 20 minutes of mobility and activation to prime the body for the main circuit.
The circuit its self last for a maximum of 40 minuets and incorporates all aspects of fitness, including cardiovascular work, weight based movements and body weight exercises. All exercises and movements are adapted to the individual so each person can have an optimal workout within their capabilities.
Finished with 20 mins stretching and cool down.

WEIGHT LIFTING

Learn and develop the clean, jerk, press & snatch. Lots of one to one time & focus on development at a pace that allows you to focus on technique and increase strength. This class is split into monthly blocks of training so is perfect for anyone looking for progression & structure.
Very useful to put into practice the skills you learn when training in the main gym.

Learn and develop the main gym lifts at a pace that allows you to focus on technique and increase strength. This class is split into monthly blocks of training so is perfect for anyone looking for some structure.

BOXING CLUB

A chance to learn boxing technique & form. At 90 mins long it’s a comprehensive boxing class & is used by both complete beginners to learn from the ground up & more experienced individuals to practice, hone their skills & encourage others.
